Incense packaging designed for Xiaojing Ancient Temple. Drawing on the cultural imagery of the temple and incense, a restrained visual language brings a sense of time, nature and stillness to an everyday object.

Giving atmosphere a form

The slender cartons echo the shape of incense sticks. Deep green, blue and brown editions share botanical linework, lettering and considered space, giving each colourway its own presence within a consistent visual language.

Between nature and object

Branches, flowers and ceramic burners frame the packaging. Details unfold along the length of the carton, inviting a pace of looking that reflects the quiet ritual of burning incense.
